Teachers can register teams any time prior to or during this period – however the challenge exam can only be taken between March 2 – 26.
I am including a webinar recording I completed in January that gives step by step instructions for teacher navigation of the portal (from registering as a teacher, registering teams, etc.)
Once a teacher has registered their team and obtained access codes, they can decide a specific class period or designated time for their student teams to take the challenge in which their teacher can proctor.
The safeguards to guarantee the integrity of the competition include teacher registration approval by Hawaii’s local administrator, student acknowledgment that they are taking the exam without assistance prior to beginning the challenge, and the teacher/coach organizing a specific class period for students to complete the challenge in which they are able to proctor.
The challenge exam is 35 minutes long and consists of 30 questions that cover national standards in economics (www.councilforeconed.org/standards).
Once a teacher’s/coach’s team(s) have finished the challenge exam, both individual and team scores are available at the Team Management page. These scores are downloadable in Excel Spreadsheets directly from the page.
