The Hawai‘i Council on Economic Education (HCEE) is a statewide partnership of business, labor, and education, established in 1965 to promote and improve the teaching of economics in Hawaii's public and private schools.

Economics for Hawaiʻi Teachers Course 

The Economics for Hawaiʻi Teachers course builds essential economic knowledge to understand our world, Hawaii’s history, and strengthen teaching practice. The course is free to all K–12 educators.

Economics Teacher Training Course

The Economics Teacher Training course prepares Hawai‘i K–12 teachers to become highly qualified to teach high school economics. The program is free and includes funding for the ETS Economics Praxis exam and all course materials.

Hawaiʻi State Economics Challenge

The Hawaiʻi State Economics Challenge is the premier economics competition in Hawai‘i and is part of the National Challenge. Students from across the islands join us to compete every April.

Hawai‘i Teachers Economics Library

The Hawaiʻi Teachers Economics Library is an online repository of Hawaiʻi-centric teaching resources and economics-related lesson plans—many of which have been created by Hawai‘i K-12 teachers. These materials carefully align with both state and national standards while emphasizing local relevance, helping teachers and students connect core economic concepts to our unique economic and cultural history.
